The Mayans have told us our goose has been cooked
Down for the count, one for the books
But I'm still trying to get this done though it's only my note in the bottle
So here we go then before we're extinct
Time is so precious, I'll be succinct
If we last longer then maybe I'll stretch it some more

Never-seen beauty waits in the air

Not long ago we were right at that breach
Thousand-year droughts, backed up to the beach
It made us amazing - the rest of those critters got wowed
(That's kind of cool)
Running the show and there's much that don't stink
Pizza, penecillin, pianos and pinks
Maybe we didn't last long but, it least, we were loud
